I've been working on a couple of special projects lately, one of which is a group of tiles commissioned by the NC Museum of Art for their current exhibition "Still Life Masterpieces". The tiles are all inspired by specific pieces in the show--it was so much fun to design tiles based on famous paintings, and they will be available in the exhibit gift shop area. I also made a grouping of holiday ornaments for the museum, which are available in their regular gift shop.
Another project I've been spending alot of time on is my new website, which I hope to launch tomorrow. The site includes a blog, and also has a webstore that I'm really excited about. More info on that soon!
The Celebration of Seagrove Potters is just around the corner, November 16-18...if you've never been out for the Celebration, it's an incredibly fun weekend--mark your calendars!
Wow, what an incredible day!
Today was one of those amazingly perfect North Carolina fall days--when the sky is more blue than you can even imagine, and it's so beautiful outside that you feel a little sad when the sun starts to set. I got to talk with so many nice folks coming out for the kiln opening--I work alone alot of the time, so it's nice to get feedback from customers about the work I've been making.
If you didn't get the chance to come out today, I'll be open tomorrow from 11-4, and the weather's supposed to be just as nice as today!
Here are a few shots of some new work I'll have in the shop for the Kiln Opening this weekend. I spent the day finishing up some jewelry and holiday ornaments, and then gave the front of the shop a much-needed coat of fresh paint. Tomorrow I'll spend most of the day cleaning up, arranging the shop, and baking some goodies for all of you that come out this weekend. I'm really looking forward to the weekend, and I hope to see lots of you! (Psst...the first one to come in the shop and tell me they read this blog post will get their choice of ornament!!)
